Why should you support?

For the students

An investment in young people who have already shown remarkable efforts

The scholarship is awarded to students who have achieved the C1 (or higher) level in English and have successfully completed an internationally recognised exam. We support young people who are willing to invest hundreds of hours into their education and self-development.

Opening the doors to quality education

An advanced level of English gives students the opportunity to study at prestigious universities at home and abroad, participate in international education programmes, and gain experience they can later utilise for the good of their country.

Supporting student no matter their background

The price of the internationally recognised exam is a significant financial burden for many families. LFS_LFG helps ensure that learning opportunities are not determined by the parent's paycheck but by the student's skill, hard work and determination.

A significant advantage in the labour market

C1 language level is a significant competitive advantage while looking for employment. It allows students to succeed better in Czech and international companies, in the public administration sector, in research or in the academic domain.

For the regions

Support for the regions that need it the most

Our project is intentionally partnering with schools in structurally disadvantaged and peripheral regions of the Czech Republic. It helps reduce regional disparities and creates opportunities for talented students regardless of where they live.

More equal opportunities for young Czech people

The future of someone should not be decided by where they were born. LFS_LFG helps students, for example, from the regions of Karviná, Bruntál, Ústí nad Labem, Karlovy Vary or Liberec to have more similar opportunities as do their peers from big cities have.

For the Czech Republic

To help the Czech Republic keep up pace with developed countries

Most Czech high school students have a B1 or B2 level of English upon graduating. In many Western countries, having a C1 level is much more common. LFS_LFG helps with ameliorating the language competencies of the young generation and helps the Czech Republic in gradually closing this gap.

To support the transition towards a knowledge-based economy

The future prosperity of the Czech Republic will not be built on cheap labour, but on knowledge, innovation and a high added value. Advanced knowledge of English opens the door to the newest findings, technologies and international cooperation. LFS_LFG helps prepare a generation that will be able to succeed in the global economy of the 21st century.

For the future

A responsible preparation for the future

The future of retirement, the health care system and the functioning of the welfare state will all be dependent on the quality of the education of today's students. In an age of an ageing population and a declining birth rate, the Czech Republic cannot afford to waste the talent of a single young person. Supporting LFS_LFG means investing in a generation that will one day finance and upkeep the prosperity of the country.

An exceptionally high social return on a small investment

For the price of one language exam, the student gains a qualification they can then utilise for the rest of their life. Only a few other investments in education have such a far-reaching and significant impact. One scholarship can pave the way towards a more quality education, better employment and a higher standard of living. The whole society then benefits from supporting the individual student.

A transparent and measurable impact

The result of the projects can be easily demonstrated by the number of students who have successfully completed an internationally recognised exam at the C1 or C2 level. Our donors then know exactly how much impact their support of our project has.
